    • The barbering program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for a career in the field of barbering. Learning opportunities develop academic and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes specialized training in safety, sanitation, hair treatments, manipulations, haircutting techniques, shaving skin care, business management, marketing, and financial responsibility.

      How long is the Program:

      • To complete the 1,200 hours curriculum takes about 32 weeks as a full-time student. The length of time required to complete the course on a part-time basis depends on the individual schedule established to complete the required 1,200 hours. Student must maintain 80% attendance rate.
      • UNeekCuts Barber School is five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
      • The Hours are:
      • Students will start 1st Tuesday of the month
        • Admission Process:

          • Complete application to determine eligibility for UNeekCuts barber program.
          • A barber Aptitude Entrance Exam will be given to those who do not possess a high school diploma or GED. Prospective student must score a 70% or higher to be eligible for training. If prospective student score less than a 70% the prospective student will be eligible for retesting after 30 days from original test date.
          • Tour of UNeekCuts Barber School
          • Individuals are notified via email, postal service, or telephone if they are eligible.
